We are recruiting a In Direct Procurement manager for a large energy company based on the south coast.
Role description:
Due to continued growth, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Procurement and Commercial Manager (PCM) to lead a small team responsible for IT, Telecoms & Corporate procurement at a Group level. As the PCM you will play a lead role in engaging key stakeholders and ensuring your team fulfil critical business requirements on time and to required performance levels in order to meet or exceed business targets. You and your team will be required to identify, develop and manage external suppliers to build a robust supply chain. The successful candidate will report to, and work closely with the Head of Procurement in shaping the team's increased upstream engagement within the business.
You will be responsible for a large number of categories including software, hardware, telecoms and corporate services. You will be required to both deliver and oversee the development and management of various category strategies as well as understand the landscape, enabling you to challenge the business and make recommendations. In coordinating and delivering your own workload and that of relevant staff, you will ensure processes allow customer requirements to be delivered in an optimal manner. You will ensure internal customers are provided with a value for money and compliant Procurement service, which upholds the commercial interests of the business, as well as liaising with other departments to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are covered and both legal and commercial risks tothe companyare minimised.
Who we're looking for:
To succeed in this role you will need tohave a deep knowledge and experience of procuring and managing high value IT contracts and the associated supplier relationship. As a strategic thinker, you will be able to anticipate future challenges and respond accordingly. Ideally MCIPS qualified (or equivalent), you will be commercially, financially and legally aware and be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of Category Management and its implementation. You will use your substantial experience in Procurement and Commercial management to quickly gain the confidence of both customers and key stakeholders at all levels. Previous experience of IT sectors, particularly within a Utility organisation, will assist you greatly in this, as will your excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.
