Capita life and pensions are currently looking for a Regional PMO manager to work in Stirling or Glasgow, Scotland on a permanent basis.
We are looking for an experienced PMO Manager with extensive knowledge and practical experience of Supply and Demand management, programme finances and change management processes.
CLPS PMO supports the governance and delivery of the CLPS Portfolio through the provision of programme and project support services to accounts and programmes. These support services encompass the following generic categories:
- Programme and Project governance & controls including change management
- Supply & demand management and planning and forecasting processes
- Client Invoice support
- Delivery of associated MI & reporting
This role and the services being delivered will involve task and line managing a composite team to deliver PMO support and/or services to Transformation and Change' portfolio's across a large account and/or group of account territories or accounts, working with the team to develop and up-skill people where appropriate to support the PMO Services
The role is for a "player" manager who will actively deliver some of the PMO services themselves as part of their day to day role, in addition to being responsible for the overall management and delivery of PMO services from their team. The division between delivery and management will depend on the scale and scope of the services provided and will vary.
Role responsibilities will include delivery and management of some or all of the following services:
- Delivery of Work Order (WO) management and contract change service and related governance
- Support and guidance to ensure CLPS and client change processes, governance models and methods embed and effectively support portfolio, programme and project governance and integrity
- Actively support the quality assurance of work orders through effective controls and maintain clear audit trails
- Work with our key account stakeholders, clients, PMO teams and SMT to create an environment for continual improvement
- Working with the PMO QP team to provide project/programme assurance & controls
Essential Skills:
Project or PMO experience and disciplines within a large commercial organisation either in a PMO management role or project role.
- Experience of managing the operational elements of a PMO or similar.
- Experience of working with internal and external customers and/or third parties with a strong customer service focus coupled with commercial awareness
- Strong line management experience and demonstrable capability to lead, set direction and performance manage both individuals and the team
- Excellent oral and written communication
- Strong process orientation and experience in process improvements within a PMO environment
- The role requires someone who has experience in
- delivering/managing holistic PMO/PSO support to large projects , programmes or portfolios of work, including managing complex reporting and resourcing functions, ideally, within a Life & Pensions or financial services organisation.
- a demonstrable aptitude to develop and manage a PMO team and its multiple services
Knowledge of MS office applications including: MS Word, Excel, Power point, Outlook, MS Project
Experience
Proficient knowledge of Project Management Methodology/Project Lifecycles and industry best practices
