Purpose of Job:
Plan vehicles ensuring the most effective routes are planned to ensure overall costs are minimised, overall revenue maximised whilst delivering high service standards to the customers.
Main Responsibilities:
* Manage the manifesting, to ensure optimal run orders are set to optimise revenues and minimise costs, whilst delivering to the agreed dates and times.
* Ensure all orders are booked in when required and sufficient time allocated to achieve the customer requirements.
* Allocate assets to the schedules to ensure correct specification of vehicle and trailer unit is assigned.
* Ensure that the tanker/product compatibility and customer quality requirements are met and that appropriate cleaning processes are followed.
* Allocate drivers to the schedules ensuring strict compliance to WTD.
* Allocate orders to sub-contractors ensuring all information relevant to the delivery is issued and performance is monitored.
* Co-ordinate drivers and fleet to ensure delivery issues are communicated across the business and corrective actions are taken efficiently and effectively so to ensure customer requirements are met
* Utilise the assets within the transport division, ensuring target levels are achieved at all times
* Adhere to the planned maintenance schedules and ensure adequate resources are available at all times.
* Continually review the plan to identify collection/delivery point issues and ensure that recurring problems or opportunities are communicated to the relevant managers.
* Support driver activity and ensure that they have the appropriate information, equipment and training to carry out the work issued.
* Maintain a liaison with other departments to ensure that there is effective co-ordination of operational activity and that customer requirements are met.
* Ensure strict compliance to VOSA standards
* Re-enforce company values ( integrity and honesty, passion for customers, dedication, simplicity, team spirit, accountability)
Knowledge, skills and experience required.
- At least 5 years' experience in the transport industry
- International CPC
- Significant knowledge of transport legislation and road haulage
- Good interpersonal skills
- Excellent organisational skills
- A Level education or above
Main Responsibilities:
* Comply with standards and procedures and compliance to record keeping
* Report any potential failures to conform
* Participate in food safety reviews (HACCP)
* Participate in quality management reviews
* Comply with all legislative requirements
* Participate in internal quality system audits (those trained to do so)
* Investigate and communicate with the customer regarding any customer complaints
* Undergo relevant training
* Responsibility for 'roles reporting to' training
* Responsible for all aspects of personnel
* Deputising as allocated on the deputy register
* Understand and work within the parameters of the health and safety/environmental policies
