IS Procurement, develops category strategies, owns supplier commercial relationships and leads sourcing projects for all spend on IS categories.
This role will report directly to the SAM Lead within IS Procurement.
The successful candidate will:
* Provide advice and expertise within CIS and SET IS. In addition the role holder will use organisational influencing skills both to ensure policy compliance and best practice adoption.
* Provide professional and technical advice and guidance to senior stakeholders and customers on SAM Process & Governance
* Proactively engage with relevant stakeholders to understand and resolve gaps between new and existing business processes and SAM applications and facilitate implementation of new business processes and modifications
* Engage with relevant stakeholders to understand SAM's
* Point of contact for all software licensing queries relating to global software agreements, including advice on cost models and options available to projects.
* Document and maintain all global licence entitlements.
* Preparing and optimising effective license positions
* Maintain and lead the engagement with IS Procurement on entitlement gathering
* Proactively supporting SAM Lead with licensing tasks and identifying customer needs.
* Make recommendations and lead projects to ensure continual process improvement.
* Produce management information to support compliance reporting, software licence planning, risk analysis
* Co-ordinate and lead global response to supplier audits.
* Ensure software maintenance for global agreements is managed effectively and proactively recommend opportunities around license consolidation
* Lead the implementation and ongoing service management of a single global software reseller for supply of technically approved COTS products.
* Interact with global projects eg new outsource contact and new desktop client to ensure licence impacts are assessed.
* Provide assistance to global purchasing team in financial and commercial negotiation of large software purchases.
* Responsible for the effective and timely delivery of multiple reports against key milestones.
* Interpret, communicate and present outcomes both verbally and in writing in formats suitable for a variety of audiences.
Skills/Experience
* Practical experience of a similar role.
* Knowledge of asset management principles and legal aspects of software licensing.
* Working Knowledge of key software vendors licensing programs, in particular IBM and Oracle Licensing models is essential.
* Previous experience of defending against IBM and or Oracle software audits.
