As a Storage Technical Specialist in our Centralized Operations department, you will be responsible for providing support services related to the implementation, maintaining and repairing of the Storage infrastructure devices that our customers utilize.

Responsibilities:

  •     Open, modify and close level 2 incident ticket related to storage assets and help assist other technology platform groups when necessary related to severity 1 incidents when required.
  •     Perform on-call management duties related to supporting storage infrastructure globally.
  •     Ensure that all storage assets are entered, updated and maintained in our asset management system to ensure proper support.
  •     Open, modify and close change control tickets related to the management and maintenance of these storage assets globally.
  •     Create, modify reports related to our SAN Fabric, SAN, NAS & CAS storage environments.
  •     Ensuring that all SAN Fabric, SAN, NAS & CAS storage devices are monitored on a daily basis & that the proper alerting is setup and sent to the right technology group from a notification perspective.
  •     Meeting with the vendor to ensure incidents are closed in a timely manner, firmware version are kept at a supportable level and understand the new technology being deployed as part of vendor roadmap.
  •     Create, modify and publish process & procedural documents that our team can leverage to support storage assets around the world.
  •     Ensure that our storage devices have the highest availability for our customers, this ensures that they can continue to generate revenue for their business.
  •     Ensure that the right capacity is purchased and deployed within the storage environment.
  •     Address any performance related issues on our storage infrastructure.
  •     Ensure that all of the storage devices deployed into our global environment meet or exceed the Audit, Risk, Governess, Disaster Recovery & Security requirements documented by policy.
  •     Ensure that Hardware Upgrades are performed as required.
  •     Software Upgrades are executed as required by our vendors to address knows issues.
  •     Firmware Upgrades are maintained and performed on a regular basis to ensure infrastructure availability and supportability by our strategic vendors.
  •     Implement standard configuration of these devices to ensure consistency supportability throughout the world.
  •     Participate in end to end storage responsibilities which includes understanding and recommendations on the design, implementation, perform disaster recovery tests, documentation and knowledge Transfer.
  •     Configure new storage units/Storage space as per the standards so it is ready for business requests.
  •     Generate storage reports consistently to make sure we have sufficient capacity always available. Reclaim the unused capacity immediately to avoid new purchases.
  •     Write the process and technical documentation which can be leveraged by the team for the requests or Disaster recovery.
Qualifications
  •     3 - 5 years hands on experience in a technical Storage infrastructure operational role supporting Cisco SAN Fabric, EMC SAN Disk & NetApp NAS infrastructure.
  •     Excellent communication skill required; both written and verbal
  •     Knowledge of storage technologies
  •     Ability to actively troubleshoot incidents and escalate appropriate
  •     Understanding of ITIL and ISO operating guidelines; certification in ITIL preferred
  •     Strong leadership abilities and team management skills.
  •     Strong process development and service delivery principles.
  •     Hands-on experience supporting multi platform storage environments.
  •     Must possess exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
  •     In-depth knowledge of ticketing systems and monitoring
  •     Knowledge of Storage technologies
  •     Experience with Change Control Ticketing
  •     Experience with Incident Reporting and Ticketing
  •     Demonstrated ability to manage in a large global company and or complex IT environment preferred
  •     Technology Knowledge Of EMC Storage Devices
  •     (VMAX, DMX, Clariion, Celera, Centera, ESRS, Firmware)
  •     Technology Knowledge Of NetApp Storage Devices
  •     (FAS, Operation Manager, Data-On-Tap, Firmware)
  •     Technology Knowledge Of Cisco SAN Switches
  •     (MDS9509, MDS9513, Cisco Fabric Manager, Firmware)
  •     Availability after normal business hours required; rotating on-call 24x7 support.
  •     Bachelor's degree.
