Location:     Aberdeenshire Council,
Deadline:    28th Aug 2013
Organisation:   Government

You have a proven track record of experience of working with Older People in the community, or in a Care home setting.
As well as having good interpersonal and organisational skills you are a good team leader with sound knowledge of the rights and needs of older people.
You should also be educated to a standard grade or equivalent and have an awareness of administrative and financial procedures. An SVQ III in Social Care would be advantageous.

You will be required to assist the Co-ordinator in the general management and day to running of the complex. The complex provides day services for people living in the community working closely with statutory and voluntary agencies and community groups as well as integrated services for very sheltered housing tenants.

The purpose of this role is to provide flexible cover across all rotas. You will receive a monthly salary but you will be required to work to cover holidays, training and sickness as per the needs of the service.  This means that an employee may have to work more or less hours each week as agreed by the VSH/Day Centre Manager.

There will be peaks and troughs of work activity over the year and employees may have to work a longer day when the service is busy and a shorter day when there is less demand.  A rota will be supplied in advance, however on occasions this may change due to employee’s absence form work due to illness. This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007.

The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.
The preferred candidate will also be required to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Check from other countries as deemed necessary. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.
