Senior Category Buyer is needed to join a WORLD RENOWNED defence team in Edinburgh.

Senior Category Buyer Responsibilities:
* Providing a procurement service to all related projects under the governance of Central
* Procurement Management and Optics IPT Management
* Managing RFQ's, requisitions and PO demand for all optics related materials
* Expediting technical data
* Resolving supply base queries and problems
* Managing the live order book on SAP and expediting delivery of material to budget and system requirements

Senior Category Buyer Experience:
* Development of existing suppliers to eliminate waste and maximise efficiency leading to better quality (DPU) and lower unit costs
* Alignment of technical road maps through:
* Understand and measure/monitor vendor capabilities in key areas pertinent to optics category
* Guide and encourage existing supply base to develop it's capabilities in line with anticipated requirements
* Identification and development of new sources of supply to match forecasted capability requirements
* Continually monitors and reviews progress of procurement work.
* Prepares monthly procurement status report such as PIMMS.
* Undertake the placement of all procurement commitments by Purchase Orders, Contracts,
Subcontract Documentation or any other form that is indicated.
* Ensure reduction in the requisition to PO time is kept to a minimum.
* Take the lead and manage the Supplier gateways, from selection through a series of performance-based reviews such as Design Reviews, Production Readiness and FAI where required.
