You are a self motivated person with suitable experience of working with young people in a Social Work, Youth Work or Care setting.
You will have knowledge and understanding of the issues relating to care leavers, and how to assist and support young people to develop the skills they require to manage the transition towards independent living.
You will be part of a small dispersed team, working along side Social Workers, Local Area Co-ordinators, Residential Workers, Foster carers and other professionals to promote good outcomes for young care leavers.
The ability to travel within Aberdeenshire is essential. The post will require flexible working to meet the needs of the young people.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.

Job Purpose
To work with Social Workers and Local Area co-ordinators to assist young people to access appropriate services
To undertake specific task-centred work with young people to develop the skills to manage the transition to independent living
Main Tasks
To work directly with young people to assist them to build life skills
To work alongside social workers in relation to supporting young people in managing the transition towards independent living, including supporting them to develop the required practical skills
To work in partnership with residential workers and foster carers to prepare young people and support them in the transition to independent living
To prepare written reports when required
To work with groups of young people to deliver specific programmes to help them life and independent living skills
