An immediate opportunity has arisen for an experienced Product Developer to join our client, a leading investment bank based in London.
Key responsibilities of the Product Developer will include:
- Ensuring delivery of programme objective to complete the build-out of long/short equity capabilities, extend the offering into other asset classes and further strengthen the existing operating model within the core categories of new products, capability, control and scalability.
- Driving product enhancements outside of the core build programme aimed primarily at supporting and enabling further monetisation of the Prime platform.
- Defining, recommending and prosecuting agreed geographical expansion initiatives for Prime Finance.
- Building strong product management functions to support a growing business, specifically in relation to processes and procedures around client commercials, MIS, documentation and core operating models.
- Ensuring that all regulatory changes scheduled to impact prime are captured, fully understood, socialised throughout the broader Prime team and clearly identified routes to compliance are documented.
- Supporting broad marketing and branding initiatives for Prime Finance both internally and externally.
The ideal Product Developer will possess the following attributes/skills:
- Equity Finance experience, in particular finance and collateral trading / treasury funding and cash management. An in-depth understanding of the mechanics of a Front Office treasury function, how daily treasury funding processes work, the importance of liquidity management, interest rate risk management, and cash management processes.
- A strong understanding of risk and margin.
- An in-depth understanding of custody and client asset management.
- Exposure to synthetic products (portfolio swaps, contract for differences) and derivatives.
- An understanding of the Operations functions that support the business.
- Candidates must have strong analytical skills.
- A proven track record of client delivery
- Excellent communication skills are essential.
- Strong internal stakeholder engagement skills / experience including the ability to lead, influence, and negotiate effectively are a necessity.
- 10 years in Prime Brokerage / Prime Finance (or related product / business experience) is preferable.
- A strong understanding, or a working knowledge of current financial regulatory change is required (for example AIFMD, Dodd-Frank, EMIR, FATCA, Financial Transaction Taxes).
- Data modelling / process modelling and a working knowledge of Microsoft Access and Excel would be ideal, but are not essential skills in prospective candidates.
