Sitec Engineering Recruitment (Part of the Sitec Group)are currently recruiting for a prestigious engineering company who specialise in the Nuclear industry and are seeking a Cost Engineer to be based at Sellafield Cumbria UK. (This is also an opportunity for those working in the oil & gas or civil engineering sector to break into the Nuclear field).

Brief Job Description:-

* Provision of a pro-active cost engineering service to bids and projects in accordance with procedures and systems.
* Monitor and control of commitments and accruals in conjunction with the Project Manager.
* Monitor and control current control estimate.
* Prepare and input into project detailed cost reports as per project categorisation criteria and requirements.
* Prepare detailed financial forecasts as required (generally on a quarterly basis).
* Monitor and control of change.
* Support the PM I Financial Controller in the production and analysis of costIsale performance.
* Support the PM to assess the outturn costs I sales.
* Contribute to the identification of project risks and the quantification of financial impact.
* Set up, maintenance and control of the cost capture structure in finance systems.

Brief Person Specification:-

* Minimum HNC level qualification in an engineering discipline, cost engineering or quantity surveying.
* NVQ Level 3 minimum in Project Controls.
* Minimum 5 years cost estimating / cost engineering experience in an appropriate sector (nuclear, process engineering, oil & gas or civil engineering).

* Sound knowledge of recognised project management and controls principles including Earned Value Management.
* Good knowledge of the uses of commercial scheduling and estimating software

* Fully competent in cost engineering in accordance with the requirements defined in the Cost Engineer role description.
* Knowledgeable in the following competencies to a sufficient level to be able to understand and describe the key requirements for all categories of project.
* Project Categorisation; Scheduling; Project Management Plan; Change Control; Budgeting & Cost Management; Earned Value Management.

Candidates should hold, or have the ability to be cleared to, UK Security clearance - SC level.
