Our Client is a specialist payments partner who work with major banks and their corporate customers and also government departments.
They are currently seeking a Data Centre Installation Engineer to join their busy data centre in Harrogate.

As part of the DCEM team, you will undertake all IT cabling infrastructure installation/testing and fault finding.
Along with IT hardware installation, assess capacity and space allocation requirements, ensuring environmental standards are maintained within the NY DC as part of designated project or BAU activities.

Essential skills required for this position:

*Must be able to work individually or as part of a larger support group to resolve technical issues expediently.
*Must be able to organise and prioritise their own workload providing regular updates on progress.
*Must be able to work in isolation or as part of a team to plan, implement, troubleshoot and support the network baseline without business impact.
*Must have the strong interpersonal skills required to enable the candidate to liaise across technical multi-disciplinary technical team boundaries and act as an advisor to the relevant business unit up to varying managerial levels.
*Must adhere to strict change management policies and systems and be able to demonstrate the need for such controls. Knowledge of SM7 system used within most major financial institutions desirable.
*Must be able to undertake the installation and termination of Copper and Fibre installation (fibre splicing) within the DCs and office environments within a Live environment to recognised industry standard.
*Will be required to carry out troubleshooting, fault finding and testing across network infrastructures utilising relevant test equipment eg Mod tap, Fluke DTX, Linkrunner and Optical light/power metres.
*Will have Telecom cabling infrastructure knowledge/experience. BT Voice circuits, Krone frame termination and testing.
*Will have experience of installing IT hardware in DC rack environments
*(certified vendor preferred)
*Must have PATCH panel construction experience
*Must have knowledge of Network infrastructures, switching and general configuration.

Qualifications

*Recognised fibre training course. Category 5 & 6 training and accreditation
*Familiar with TIA/ISO11801 installation standards.

Salary: £30,000 - £35,000 per annum plus excellent benefits
