Procurement Manager/ Advisor - Healthcare/Public Sector

Salary £50k + Package

West Midlands

1st Executive is currently working with newly formed Public Sector/Healthcare organisations that are looking to recruit a Procurement Advisor/ Manager for their office in the West Midlands.

As this is a newly formed department the position of Procurement Advisor is a key hire for this team which will see you work closely with the Senior Contract Lead and Head of Procurement. The main focus of this role will be to manage a portfolio of procurement and contracting projects on behalf of new and existing clients.

In this role will you will undertake a wide spectrum of duties including

* The role will have to ensure that all procurement projects within their portfolio are delivered through the most appropriate procurement/contracting route for each project;
* Day to day management of the general Indirect Category.
* Manage all potential risks and associated mitigation actions, including that of legal challenge through breach of procurement regulation
* Managing input from clinical, technical, financial and legal resources, providing updates to stakeholders including boards and non-Executive Directors.
Responsible for communications to Suppliers/Providers. Where appropriate this will include ensuring suppliers messaging through procurement portals are run efficiently, managing the production and amendments to tender/contract documentation and if required, negotiation or clarifications with preferred suppliers.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of delivering savings across a number of indirect categories; you will also have a strong understanding of OJEU regulations and ideally have worked within the Healthcare/NHS environment.

An open approach to travel is required as this role covers a regional remit there will be an element of travel throughout the West Midlands so a full UK driving licence is required for this role.

Requirements

* Extensive exposure to and strong working knowledge of OJEU regulations
* MCIPS/Degree Qualified
* Career history working within NHS/Healthcare environments
* Strong Indirect category focus including Prof Services, HR, Travel, Marketing, IT and FM
* Strong Client and Stakeholder Engagement skills
* Full UK Driving Licence
