A highly commercial Category Manager is required by my client, a medium-sized, West Midlands based consultancy specialising in the delivery of Procurement & Supply Chain improvement projects.

The Category Manager will be responsible for client-based projects from inception to delivery. You will be involved in scoping potential projects, detailing the scope of work and working with the business development and project teams to propose solutions to clients; following award of a project you will be responsible for delivering the detailed procurement content, including analysis, supplier development and tendering & negotiation with new and existing suppliers. My client approach their work in an inclusive manner, encouraging their customers to take a lead on all activities with the correct mentoring and guidance, therefore ensuring robust, repeatable improvements rather than quick wins and short term change.

You will be a degree-qualified Category Manager, Purchasing Manager or Senior Buyer with a demonstrable track record of delivery and personal development.
You will have first class influencing, engagement and stakeholder management skills and will be comfortable working with customers at any level. Fit is critical; my client are looking for a Category Manager who will add value to the continued development of their close-knit, team-oriented culture.
You must be willing to commute to my client's office in the West Midlands when not with clients, and prepared to travel significantly within the UK and occasionally Europe when working onsite with clients.
