Due to SSE's continued growth within the Retail business, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a committed Procurement and Commercial Manager (PCM) to lead the Category Management of System Integration (SI) Services and provide support services to the Retail Transformation Programme (RTP). As the PCM, you will play a lead role in educating the organisation on cost, delivery and responsiveness for Procurement and Contract Management. You will help deliver the Programme objectives and help realise the Retail Vision as you develop and lead sourcing strategies for the System Integration and IT Services Category.
Procurement and Contract Management of complex, long-term and strategic System Integrator/IT Services deals could involve values of up to £50m. As the PCM, you will be required to develop and manage the category strategy and plan as well as understand the landscape, enabling you to challenge the business and make recommendations. In coordinating and delivering your own workload and that of relevant staff, you will ensure processes allow customer requirements to be delivered in an optimal manner.
You will ensure internal customers are provided with a value for money and compliant Procurement service, which upholds the commercial interests of SSE, as well as liaising with other departments to ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are covered and both legal and commercial risks to the Programme and SSE are minimised. You will also advise internal customers on engagement with third parties and agree the Procurement process from definition of strategy to completion and contract.
To succeed in this role you will have a deep knowledge and experience of procuring and managing high value SI/IT Services contract and of managing contracts with large consultancy organisations. As a strategic thinker, you will be able to anticipate future challenges and respond accordingly. Ideally MCIPS qualified (or equivalent), you will be commercially, financially and legally aware and be able to demonstrate an excellent understanding of Category Management and its implementation. You will use your substantial experience in Procurement and Commercial management to quickly gain the confidence of both customers and key stakeholders at all levels. Previous experience of IT and Retail sectors, particularly within a Utility organisation, will assist you greatly in this, as will your excellent negotiation, influencing and stakeholder management skills.

Salary: up to £60,000 depending on skills and experience
