Inside Out Purchasing and Supply has been engaged by our Cambridgeshire based client to recruit for a Material Planner.

OBJECTIVE
Ensure all new materials are available according to planned production and agreed lead-times. Manage raw material stock to ensure minimal inventory value. Redundant stock should be managed to ensure there is minimal cost to the business.

JOB ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Material Planning
Order materials against a fixed plan and critical path dates
"Place orders for all new materials against agreed critical dates
"Pro-actively communicate where delays in development could cause production delays
"Ensure all new orders are accompanied with specifications
"Plan orders to arrive 10 days before production

Stock Turn
Reduce inventory levels (value and space)
"Target inventory value to be within agreed levels
"Place orders for call-off wherever possible ensuring we only take title to materials as late as possible
"Where call-offs are not available ensure only the fixed plan is covered unless MOQ's dictate otherwise. In this case confirmation to order should be sought from the purchasing specialist
"Pro-actively communicate to the purchasing specialists where supplier delivery terms are affecting the ability to reduce inventory levels
"Minimise redundant stock value

Redundant Stock
Yearly redundant stock value to not exceed agreed levels
"Work closely with the commercial team to ensure minimal write off for all delisting products
"For seasonal products ensure a decision is made at point of last run as to whether to use up left over materials
"Raise disposal notes for redundant stocks and ensure all costs are tracked
"Periodically review all materials. Where materials are flagged at risk/redundant raise concessions or look at all creative ways of using the material

KPI's
"Review systems and processes to simplify and automate them wherever possible
"All materials ordered against supplier lead-times
"No material shortages in a 3 week period unless prior agreed
"Stock value within agreed limit
"Redundant stock within agreed limit

"UK Driving Licence with ability to travel If necessary
