Woodrow Mercer Associates are seeking a Category Manager to prepare the long-term strategy and business plan for each AV and UC product in the portfolio of our client based in Surrey.
You will act as the principal evangelist for all products in the portfolio and ensure knowledge transfer to the business and channel and provide differentiated sales tools in support of the long-term strategy.

Our client is a well-established, highly reputable distributor of collaboration and unified communication products, looking to drive the growth of their business through the AV product set.
You will identify new product and market growth opportunities for the AV and Complementary portfolio and drive activity across the business and into the channel, in a timely fashion, in support of these.

The Product Category Manager is responsible for managing two Product Manager's and an Operations Executive.

Your key responsibilities will include:
Understand company objectives and incorporate these goals into the strategic plans for the portfolio, channel & vendor activity.
* Develop long-term strategic and near-term tactical business plans
* Drive activity across sales, business development & marketing in support of the portfolio's aims.
* Work closely with the Marketing functions to deliver market and vendor specific programmes to build brand, understanding and create leads.
* Work closely with the procurement functions to ensure stock levels are maintained at a level to support all sales and marketing activity, ensuring aged stock and waste is kept to a minimum.
* Where appropriate, identify and implement new business models & approaches for the portfolio.
* Work with other Senior Product Managers and Business Managers to create total product propositions incorporating the AV portfolio
* Work with the channel and develop new channel opportunities to deliver growth

Knowledge of:
* Commercial and business process
* Audio visual industry; specifically projectors, panels and associated complementary products

* Managing and motivating a team
* Senior level product management and/or business management
* Developing vendor relationships
* Evidence of successfully bringing multiple products to market and developing their business levels

The role is based at company headquarters in Surrey, although there will be an element of travel required to partner sites.
