Michael Page Design & Development are working with this Testing and Analysis company, to find a Senior Electrical Design Engineer based in the Midlands.

Role description
This Testing and Analysis company, based in the Midlands,arecurrently pioneering the commercial development of the low energy firing of ceramics, a ground-breaking project of importance to the traditional and engineering ceramics industry.
With financial support from the Government's Regional Growth Fund, this will involve the installation of a new, near-industrial scale pilot kiln at their laboratories.
Working as part of a multi-disciplinary team of exceptional scientists and engineers this Senior Electrical Design Engineerwill play a central role in the installation and commissioning of this equipment.
A key responsibility will be the design of electronics for the application of DC fields in high temperature environments.
This will require close integration with the broader aspects of this exciting and challenging project to develop the technology for full scale commercial application.

Objectives for the role will be:-
* Working with the team to complete facility installation to time and budget;
* Design electrical and electronic hardware for the application of DC electric fields in high temperature environments;
* Work with the Project Scientific Leader to source equipment and electrical/electronic engineering works;
* Prepare technical documentation and reports;
* Establish close working relationships with our commercial clients and gain a detailed understanding of their needs across a variety of disciplines;
* Integrate and share knowledge as part of a multi-disciplinary team.

Who we're looking for
Candidates for this Senior Electrical Design Engineer role should have:
* Degreein Electrical/Electronic Engineering - ideally to Masters level - with specific expertise in digital and analogue electronics, high voltage DC applications, system evaluation and test and with a solid grounding in general and mechanical engineering.
* Proven Experience with the design and specification of electronics in capital projects is essential.
* CAD skills
* High level of proficiency in the use of spreadsheets would be a significant advantage.
*Significant experience in project engineering within an industrial environment.
