Role description
IT Procurement Manager, Manchester,
Key Accountabilities & Responsibilities:
* Responsible for leading and coordinating sourcing activities within the IT category. This will include Professional Services, Software, Hardware and Telecommunications.
* Responsible for coordinating sourcing activities within other Indirect spend categories with Senior Buyer Category specialists in the Group Indirect Procurement team. This will include Marketing, Facilities, HR and Corporate Services (primarily BPO, Legal and Management Consulting).
* Responsible for the development and ownership of their portfolio's strategy (including Category Plans) within the category in line with internal stakeholder and the Indirect Procurement Executive's requirements.
* Responsible for the negotiation, draft and review of contracts for goods/services within assigned categories, (for approval by the procurement processes) to maximize cost reduction, timely delivery and consistent quality of products/services by agreement of a comprehensive set of terms and conditions.
* Responsible for managing the Procurement process to meet audit and compliance requirements.
* Responsible for managing the relationship with internal customers to meet / exceed expectations.
* Responsible for the identification and delivery of synergies and P & L benefits across all businesses .
* Responsible for managing a Laterooms resource who is responsible for supplier relationship management, including monitoring and measuring performance and implementing techniques to drive selected suppliers within assigned categories towards world class performance.
* Accountable for clear communication of agreed strategies, procurement updates and contract information.

Key Skills, Knowledge, Experience and Competencies:
* The ideal candidate will be of degree calibre in IT, Finance, Business Studies or Procurement and MCIPS Qualified.
* Ability to lead, prioritise and manage complex projects and sourcing activities under pressure (project/programme management skills).
* Ability to manage and analyse complex data under pressure
* Must have the ability to make decisions independently and knowledge of when to escalate issues.
* Able to work independently and remotely while maintaining central policies and decisions, integrating with the wider group team (who are situated at other locations).
* Able to provide briefs, updates and reports for senior management reviews within an international environment.
* Understanding of cultural differences and ability to cultivate win/win solutions.
* Awareness of change management techniques and conversion into effective delivery
* Multi-lingual, in particular Spanish language skills desirable. Strong communication skills.
* Excellent negotiation and strategic sourcing ability.
* Strong contracting ability (5 years + experience)
* Advanced skills with Microsoft Office IT packages - (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
* Demonstrable record in use of eSourcing systems and understanding of their implication
