An exciting position has arisen within a market leading branded FMCG manufacturing organisation in their European supply chain operations. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a highly successful company that is as forward thinking as its products.
The Role:
You will be responsible for coordinating the company strategy for vendor performance. Working closely with the Commodity and Vendor Relation Management, Technical & Quality teams you will be responsible for purchasing packaging and chemicals. This will include the execution of vendor performance management processes and the rationalisation of excess low-performing vendors in specific categories and global sourcing to ensure that the company is supported by a full complement of high performing vendors in all territories, providing for all requirements.
As part of the role you will be expected to:
* Develop a nuanced understanding of the commodity landscape in order to forecast industry trends and gauge emerging competitive forces
* Optimise EMEA supply chain performance through cost and scenario analysis, whilst benchmarking and working towards "Best-in-class" Working Capital Principles in line with the operations team.
* Investigate and explore the vendor markets and translate the organisations business strategy to the vendor market, including the selection of vendors through detailed RFI/RFQ processes.
* Set budgets for purchasing price targets and negotiating purchasing prices, delivering cost savings wherever possible and ensuring competitive pricing.
* Drive innovation activities by suggesting and discovering new processes and technologies with selected vendors in close co-operation with the marketing team.
About You
You should have a Bachelor's degree or equivalent business experience. You should be able to demonstrate significant Management experience in a manufacturing/distribution/logistics environment. In addition, you should have a minimum of 2 years procurement/sourcing experience ideally in European supply chain. You should have an advanced knowledge and interest in market dynamics and competitive behaviour, negotiation and pricing, manufacturing processes, Quality Management and risk mitigation. As part of the role you will be expected to travel 40% of the time.
Essential Skills
* Leadership, decisiveness, flexibility, sound business judgement and highly developed personal, analytical and communication skills.
* Advanced knowledge of English and Intermediate knowledge of French or Dutch/French.
