Reporting to the Head of Procurement Support for telent Technology Services Limited, you will provide support to the Category Management team across all Direct Categories and take on the responsibility for specific procurement projects within the team.
The Categories you will support will include Technology Equipment, Sub Contract Services, Labour, Equipment Hire and Installation Material.
Working with the relevant Category Manager, your role will consist of developing structured category plans, developing and implementing procurement solutions, collating and analysing procurement data, developing supplier contracts and general support to the Category Management team to deliver significant efficiencies and cost savings across these categories.
The role may allow development / progression opportunity towards a Category Manager role over time

We are interested in you if you have the following:
Proven knowledge of Procurement practices in a customer led business environment
- Experience related to categories within a Procurement department
-A good technical knowledge of some of the categories and sub-categories
-A genuine appreciation and understanding of procurement process, practices and the value that Procurement can bring
-A track record in savings delivery within a Procurement organisation
-Good levels in MS office products especially MS Excel and Access
-Excellent interpersonal skills
-Experience in the telecommunication and specifically Enterprise, Wireless and Wireline industry would be an advantage
Ability to work with and influence people at all levels within the organisation
-Innovative capable of thinking and looking out of the box for innovative and creative solutions to problems
-Excellent persuasion and negotiation skills
Typical Deliverables:
Supported by the relevant Category Manager, the development of a detailed category methodology, plans and strategies that deliver specific and significant short, medium and long term cost savings to the business
-Implementation of procurement solutions which enable efficient Supply Chain processes and systems provide the best value solutions with lowest transactional cost to the businessProduction of Framework contractual agreements with preferred suppliers that fulfils all business requirements
-Delivery against an agreed Savings target every year
-Working closely with the bid teams to support Procurement activities in support of customer bids and opportunities and ensure that all bid related sourcing decisions are made by Procurement and support the overall category and savings strategies.
-The ongoing Supplier Performance Management of key suppliers
-The support of key business strategies and projects associated with the categories and the management of third party RFI / RFQ processes and activities in support of these strategies and projects
-Assisting in the completion and implementation of the Oracle Procurement and P2P strategy including maintenance of contract data and catalogues in Oracle
Qualifications/Skills
-Fully MCIPS Qualified
Degree / HND / HNC or equivalent in an appropriate discipline desirable but not essential
-Depth and breadth of experience may be taken into account where these qualifications have not been obtained
