About the roles:
ESPO are seeking a number of talented individuals to help deliver an excellent and professional procurement service to the entire public sector, and are inviting applications from candidates interested in joining us in the following roles:
*BUYERS (£22,218 - £28,638) You will be a key part of a category team with responsibility for the procurement of a range of products and services, for the management of contracts, customers and supply chains
*MERCHANDISERS (£22,218 - £28,638) You will be part of the catalogue team responsible for defining and selecting a range of FMCG-type products marketed and sold through ESPO's print and web catalogues.
*PROCUREMENT TRAINEES/TRAINEE BUYERS (£17,568 - £22,218) You will be an ambitious graduate seeking a career in procurement, willing to work in a number of our category teams on a rotational basis, gaining skills and experience to become a professional buyer.
*CATEGORY MANAGER (£32,607 - £35,970) You will develop, manage, co-ordinate and review the performance of a team of buyers, trainees and support staff in order to develop and manage the category's procurement portfolio.
From consultancy services to curriculum products, school meals to cleaning services, ESPO's buyers procure a diverse spectrum of products and services across a number of category teams - Building & Facilities Management, Catalogue, Education, Energy, Environment & Waste, Food & Catering, Highways & Vehicles, ICT,Professional Services, and Social Care & Health - all offering exciting opportunities for further development and growth.
About you:
You'll be enthusiastic, professional and passionate about wanting to make a difference.
You'll have good communication, interpersonal and influencing skills combined with a commercial focus enabling you to deal with customers and suppliers alike.
You will be familiar with supplier selection and evaluation processes which when combined with effective stakeholder engagement and contract management will enable you to create excellent procurement solutions for our customers.
You will have good attention to detail, strong numerical and analytical skills giving you the ability to analyse trends and interpret market data.
