My client is a well recognised global brand, providing supply chain solutions to a range of clients.

They are looking to recruit a commercial buyer who will maximise value for money in the purchasing of support services and materials. Reporting to the Head of Procurement, the successful candidate will be expected to engage with Senior Managers and Directors across the group. You will be responsible for:

· The commercial selection and negotiation of suppliers for the purchase of all parts, lubricants, special tools, test & diagnostic equipment and general workshop equipment used in the maintenance of the vehicle fleet
· Continuously review and challenge the use of suppliers using both commercial and performance metrics to consolidate and minimize the supplier list
· Developing & managing the commercial terms and supply relationships with third party franchised and non franchised dealer service network
· Developing & managing the relationship with performance monitoring for the key parts and service suppliers
· Analysing parts & service spend data to recommend improvements in pricing or supply
· Ensuring the parts database and contract parts pricing details and labour rates are accurately maintained
· Ensuring that the inventory database is maintained in good order and that parts usage and spend is routed through contracted suppliers
· Highlighting any spend through non approved suppliers under the miscellaneous parts category

The successful candidate will ideally be CIPS qualified, with demonstrable track record in buying within a multi-site, commercial organisation. In addition experience in

· Stock control or stock management systems in the automotive, service or manufacturing sectors
· Customer focussed and sales orientated approach
· Remain effective' under pressure - continually aware in terms of pace, volume and time
