An excellent opportunity has arisen with a Global services business for a Data communications Manager.

A successful Data Communications Manager needs to have a unique blend of strong technical background and strategic focus while being able to produce quality workmanship under sometime demanding conditions.
Mentoring other members of the Data Network Team to achieve innovative, efficient and effective delivery of Data Network product technology services to our internal and external customers.

Manage the Data Communication Engineers as directed by the Communications Manager

* It is responsible for the installation, maintenance and health of the organization's EMEA Data Network.
* Evaluating vendor products in hardware and software and recommending purchases consistent with the organization's short- and long-term objectives.
* Recommending, documenting and implementing policies and standards relating to the Computershare Data Network environment and ensures adherence to security procedures.
* Maintaining contact with external vendors in order to keep current with technology progress, roadmaps and overall direction of technology used, or to be used, in Computershare
* Participating in operational strategic planning and decision making processes by providing technical assistance and knowledge as a subject matter expert in Routing, Switching, Security, Load Balancing, Wireless, NMS, Cabling and general Telecommunications across multiple vendor products.
* Preparing technical reports for Management

Essential Skills, Experience and Competencies
Demonstrated experience in the following key areas:

* Designing, Building, Securing and Supporting Enterprise LAN and WAN solutions
* Advanced network monitoring and troubleshooting techniques
* Creating, maintaining and following technical procedures and documentation
* Project Managing technical projects
* Working with ITIL aligned processes (Incident, Problem, Change and Release)
* Working in a large, complex technical environment which supports 100 or more internal network devices
* Working closely with External Vendors and other internal technical teams

Strong understanding of Data Network infrastructure technologies including:
* MPLS / VPLS Service Provider Networks
* Ethernet / DWDM / Frame Relay / ISDN / xDSL Telecommunications services
* Enterprise routing, switching and wireless products
* Enterprise application and DNS network link load balancers
* Enterprise stateful inspection and application layer firewalls
* Enterprise Network IDS / IPS, SIEM, NAC/NAP
* Enterprise Network Monitoring and management
* Enterprise structured cabling

Good understanding of other Infrastructure technologies including:

* Microsoft Windows Server Operating Environment, Active Directory and Microsoft based applications
* FCOE / iSCSI and Storage Area Networks
* Microsoft Windows Desktop Operating environment
* Enterprise Systems Monitoring
* Data Centre facilities, operations and capacity planning
* Telephony Systems for both Call Centres and general office systems.

* Strong technical understanding of TCP/IP protocol (OSI Model, Protocol Analysis)

* Network IT Engineering experience
* Experience with Extreme Networks, Cisco, Juniper, Fortinet and Meru Wireless Controllers
