Infrastructure Support Analyst/Support Engineer - £25k - £30k - Lancashire

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a hugely successful and exciting global branding company as an Infrastructure Support Analyst/Support Engineer. They are responsible for brands such as Berghaus, Ted Baker, Canterbury, Hunter & Lacoste. My client is able to interview next week, they are keen to get the Infrastructure Support Analyst/Support Engineer started ASAP.
Essential:
- PC/Network experience- Windows 2008 Server + Windows 7- LAN/WAN- Microsoft Exchange 2010

Desirable:
- Cisco/HP switch configuration skills- Citrix XenDesktop/Xenapp- Vmware

Key purpose of the job- To support and enhance my clients Server, PC and Network Infrastructure to ensure maximum practical availability and efficiency.

- To ensure that departmental standards are adhered to when supporting my clients infrastructure.
- To support the Infrastructure Support Manager with regards to ad-hoc department activities.
- To carry out system administration tasks as per documented procedures.
- To help deliver project tasks within agreed timescales.
- Identify technical solutions for problems, improvements and developments.

Key responsibilities

Provide technical infrastructure support for the end user community.
Evaluation, handling and resolution of Infrastructure technical issues, in such a way that the problems are always registered and carried out to internal SLA's, actions and solutions are communicated via available tools.
Control and secure access to my client's Infrastructure in line with Infrastructure policies and procedures.
Monitor physical infrastructure (HW & OS).
Ensuring a high quality infrastructure system through coordinated, robust and global testing, and documentation.
Work in a 'best endeavours' manner to ensure that Project and Support commitments made to business users remain within agreed timescales.
Flexible in terms of working location.
Work in accordance with the priorities and timescales defined in my client's IT OGSM and Project plans.
Play an active role in the delivery of infrastructure projects on a global scale.
Ensure all implementations are delivered to Infrastructure standards.

Qualifications and experience Infrastructure Support Analyst/Support Engineer will need to have:

Proven solid PC/Network experience covering the areas listed below;
Excellent understanding of Windows 2008 Server and Windows 7
Excellent understanding of LAN/WAN environments using TCP/IP
Cisco/HP switch configuration skills are a distinct advantage
Excellent understanding of Microsoft Exchange 2010
Understanding of Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp is desirable
Understanding of Chassis/Blade based server technology running VMware is desirable
Understanding of DNS, DHCP and Proxy Servers
Familiar with Blackberry Devices and BES Servers
Ability to build and maintain relationships with internal and external teams and clients
Ability to recognise and communicate global implications of changes
Have a sound understanding of customer service
Needs to hold a clean driving licence
Needs to be comfortable to travel/fly to international sites if required
