For an aerospace design and manufacturing company of simple hydraulic valves through to complete landing gear systems, they are seeking a Programme Manager to perform various tasks which includes customer interface, internal programme management and development programme management.

This organisation encompasses the full product lifecycle including conceptual design schemes, detailed design of complex mechanisms and systems, certification and qualification of the products, production, deployment, operations and on-going product support to active fleet through to end of life management. The Program Manager is to support the core planning and management of programmes within the organisation.

As Customer Interface

* Acts as primary project contact to establish key stakeholder requirements and project objectives.
* Establish regular communication plan and ensure key interaction with the customer is maintained
* Liaises with key stakeholders in accordance with accepted project management standards in the industry

Internal Program Management

* Develop and manage the overall project plan consistent with project objectives as defined by the customer requirements and contract in place
* The role has support from all internal departments including commercial, engineering, procurement, materials, logistics and the production team and will require the Program Manager to provide direction and prioritisation of workload and schedule
* Technical and program management leadership of assigned projects & customers
* Management of projects through the lifecycle including development, production, deployment, operations and ongoing support
* May lead others and direct all phases of projects or subsystems of major projects from inception through completion

Development of Program Management

* Identify and implement improvements in project management processes and business systems that support project decision makers
* Ensures that all project control systems within the scope of the project are in place and integrates project data for decision makers

This is a significant position for this organisation and therefore you should have:

* Min 2 full product life-cycles performing program management responsibilities as the major part of their role
* Degree (min 2:1) in relevant engineering discipline or equivalent qualification

Experience with a customer focus and service approach is required with a strong ability to monitor customers and operations against standards. Being able to demonstrate strong operational skills as well as delivery on time, to budget and spec will be required.
