An exciting new opening has become available in a top 4 major global consultancy within their industry product solutions department.
Working in a newly acquired business on one of the leading Java products available in the current market place.

As the Solutions Architect / Senior Technical Consultant, your primary responsibility lies in assisting in the definition of the design to be used in the product implementation, and to ensure the correct use of the product in that implementation.
You will work closely with senior systems integration partner staff, customer technical staff and principal technical consultants, acting as a point of reference and escalation on technical matters. Ultimately you will be responsible for the technical success of all components or projects on which you are assigned.

Working as part of a team with integration partners and customer staff, you will define components of the enterprise architecture based on the product, ensuring that the clients interests are represented in this architecture at all times.
You will work closely with principal technical consultants to map requirements artefacts to the product application and model from a technical perspective.
You will also have responsibility for answering questions from all parties on technical issues, while providing direction on best practises in software development.

It is important to note that this is not a purely technical role. Key to this role is to effectively communicate with all parties, providing a consultative approach to the standards demanded by my client.
You will be expected to be an experienced systems designer and have extensive experience building and designing large scale client / server business systems. However, an ability to lead technical teams where required, and to articulate customer objectives in technical terms to senior management, business users and development teams is paramount.

In order to qualify for this role you should have the following skills and experience:
·Experience as a Solutions Consultant / Solutions Architect / Technical Consultant
·Knowledge of modern software architectures
·Knowledgeable in all aspects of IT systems development
·Experience with relational databases and SQL
·Knowledge of Java, XML and UML2.0
·Experience with Unix and NT Operating systems
·Knowledge of J2EE (including HTML, JSP and EJB technologies) and component based development
·Knowledge of runtime configuration and deployment of systems on Windows and Unix platforms
·Aware of more than one industry standard development methodology , very familiar with at least one each of relevant industry standard, RDBMS, TP Monitor and middleware technology
·Excellent Communication Skills
·Stakeholder Management
·Experience working within the public sector.
·Should be willing to travel up to 75% of the time.
The role will involve project work predominantly in the North West, however all applications are welcomed, although it should be noted that all applicant will be expected to commute to the North West on a regular basis.
