Purpose & Relevance for the Organization:
* To understand the category planning/forecasting for designated categories, influence range building and pricing strategies, drive forecast accuracy, focus on inventory management. Support the Integrated Business Planning process within the marketing function.
* Understand the strategy and direction of relevant categories
* Work with Merchandise Managers to capture and communicate key category strategies to ensure effective planning.
* Complete the range build process from initial input to sell in and ensure clear visibility of the category financial performance, highlighting the pricing strategy.
* Where necessary challenge all aspects of the range build to ensure accurate financial reporting, overall and on article level.
Planning process
* Adhere to planning deadlines, as directed by the Manager Demand Planning.
* Work with Merchandise Managers to adhere to number of articles, sales and margin targets as issued by Senior Manager Demand Planning.
* Review Demand Planning processes on an on-going basis and update the internal process manuals where necessary.
* Produce the category sell in tool prior to sales launch and work with Merchandise Managers to drive accuracy.
* Work with Marketing Systems team to ensure all designated category products are created in all relevant systems prior to sell-in.
* Evolve the range forecast through to the demand planning tool ensuring completeness and accuracy.
* Review the demand plan on a monthly basis versus the latest orderbook information with a focus on Demand Plan Accuracy to achieve set targets.
* Reconcile the detailed demand plan with the latest category financial forecast on a monthly basis and propose any adjustments where necessary.
* Recommend articles to be dropped, stop sold as early as possible. Ensure fully communicated to customer service and sales.
* Input, as appropriate, to the specific range requirements of relevant key accounts.
* Input to forecasting processes for independents, specialists etc.
* Be the "process champion" for a designated process within the department and look to improve / develop where possible. Also train new members to the team and the wider team on the process and any changes.
