Acting as an agency on behalf of my client I am seeking a Civil, Structural and Architectural Engineer on a staff and/or contract basis to be based in the North West.

My client is a nuclear specialist, covering both civilian and defence sectors, across the complete lifecycle from new build, through operations and maintenance, to final decommissioning and waste management

Candidates MUST have seismic experience with knowledge of dynamic loads.

Description of job purpose:
The CSA Engineer is principally a design delivery role from a technical perspective working across a multi-disciplined design team. The CSA Engineer is usually responsible for delivering the design within their own discipline with frequent liaison / management of engineers within the design team from other disciplines. The CSA Engineer also provides technical guidance and imparts knowledge to Engineers, Design engineers, Graduates and Designers.

Future possible progression:
A typical path is to develop to Principal Engineer, Design Manager or Project Manager upon satisfactory experience, proven capability, qualifications and client acceptance.

Continued Professional Development/Training:
The company encourages CPD. There is a structured approach for employees to gain Chartered status. Other accreditations can be supported also. The principle adopted is that professional development is intended to improve the effectiveness of the individual's ability to do their job.

Required Qualifications:
Degree qualified in a technical/engineering discipline is essential. CEng status is a normal prerequisite for this position. This is largely driven by client expectations however this is not always a limiting factor. A full UK drivers licence is essential for this position as travelling between offices may be required.

Required Experience:
*Demonstrable competence gained in a design delivery position within a project based environment
*Experience in the nuclear sector is preferred but not essential. It is a requirement of the position to demonstrate experience gained in a design delivery role ideally from a highly regulated industry. This could be from but is not limited to the Defence, Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Automotive, Water or Food industry sectors
*Knowledge of civil engineering design principles is essential
*An understanding of seismic design would be a distinct advantage; however this is not essential for the position as any necessary training can be provided in specialist technical areas
*Experience and/or ability of leading a technical team within a professional project delivery environment are necessary for this position
