We are recruiting for a Highways Maintenance Technician to work on our client`s capital works maintenance programme.

Your role will involve liaising between County Councillors, Parish, Town and District Councils and local residents.

You will be acting as the Local Area representative for our client developing local knowledge from informal inspections and generally being out and about in the area. You will be dealing with customer expectation and be responsible for dealing with highway and traffic maintenance issues.

Essentially, your role will be to advise, liaise and work both internally and externally to influence and deliver efficient highways maintenance works across the County and also involved with:
- Dealing with highway emergencies and category 1 highway defects
- Dealing with and responding to CRN`s and general enquiries
- Identify & order routine revenue maintenance works and liaise with operational teams on delivery
- Carriageway, Footway, Drainage, Kerb defects
- Traffic Signs, Road Markings, Highway Licensing, Highway Enforcement
- Paved footway walked inspections (interim arrangement)
- Assist Maintenance Engineers on Capital maintenance schemes
- Assist Capital Works team on local Traffic Management schemes
- Attend Local Area Forum / Local Community Partnership meetings
