Flexible and adaptable you have good communication and interpersonal skills, together with a welcoming pleasant manner. As well as having the ability to remain calm when under pressure you can also work on your own initiative and as part of a team.
Keyboard and word processing skills are essential.

 This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.  An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire Council will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory. The preferred candidate will also be required to provide an Overseas Criminal Records Check from other countries as deemed necessary. An offer of employment by Aberdeenshire will be subject to the outcome of this check being satisfactory.

Job Purpose
To provide an efficient and effective clerical and reception service within the School.  
Main Tasks
  •     To provide a general reception service to members of the public and visitors to the school
  •     Word processing
  •     Cash handling
  •     Record keeping
  •     General office duties and other clerical tasks

Experience / Qualifications / Personal Qualities
Essential Criteria
  •     Previous clerical experience, including reception work, filing, record keeping and word processing
  •     Good communication and organisational skills
  •     Knowledge and experience of Microsoft Office software
  •     Flexible and adaptable approach
  •     Ability to use initiative and work under pressure
  •     Awareness of importance of confidentiality

Desirable Criteria

    Previous experience in an educational establishment
    A recognised typing/ word processing qualification (e.g. RSA or Scotvec Word Processing 3)
    Articulate and confident in verbal communication skills
