Assystem are currently working with an internationally renowned major OEM based in the UK who require an Automotive Interior Engineer on a permanent basis.

You will be supporting the FRAME (Body-Exterior-Interior) engineering section by providing technical capability for development, production & quality of automotive interior parts/systems (e.g. trim, safety systems, seats, IP, carpet, headliner). As a Senior Project Engineer, you will also be expected to co-ordinate the Interior category workload and provide mentoring & coaching to other Interior associates.

Ideally, you will have strong automotive Interior parts development experience obtained with an OEM or Tier 1 supplier. You should be able to demonstrate examples of confirming specifications for performance, durability, quality; fault finding of components / systems. The ability to plan & manage work to achieve tight deadlines is required.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Cost, weight and technical feasibility
2. Drawing creation, modification, check & release
3. Competitor parts analysis
4. Localised parts development & maturation
5. Confirmation of SPEC test results
6. Market Quality concern investigation
7. Motorshow research

QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

Knowledge of Plastics, Metals, Fabrics, Paint and related manufacturing methods (Injection, blow, stamping etc.).
Supplier development.
CATIA V5.
Be proactive and demonstrate high level of self motivation to deliver results.
An adept communicator, be able to build good relationships across all cultures both internally and externally.
Competence in a European language is desirable but not essential.
Occasional travel overseas will be required.
