The Professional Services Category Manager is responsible for the development of demand information together with stakeholders that can be translated into strategic supply projects on a global category basis for a wide area of spend which includes:
- Professional Consulting Services (Finance, Audit, Economics, Management, Strategy etc)
- Legal Services
- Marketing Services
- PCA Support inc Marketing
- Company Secretarial Services
- Group Strategy
- M&A
- Engineering Services
- Property Services
Given the above mix this role will interface at the highest levels. Additionally this post should be instrumental to the on-going development of engagement planning and delivery on a category level both for Indirects and potentially other areas of C&P given the strong consulting skills that we are seeking.
Unique Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Attribute
Essential
-Extensive contract and procurement industry experience
-Experience of procurement in international, geographically-diverse environments
-Strong experience in managing change and improving contracting and procurement processes
-Strong knowledge of contracting and category management
-Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
-Broad knowledge of C&P Business Processes and Systems
-Excellent client engagement skills - competent at leading and managing meetings and presenting to senior level
-Experience of building relationships with internal business customers
Desirable
-Oil and Gas industry experience in a breadth of categories, e.g. Capital Projects, Operations and Maintenance, Well Engineering and Indirects.
Knowledge Skills & Attributes
-Passion for leading change and driving C&P excellence into the business.
-Fully competent in all phases of the C&P process, with full understanding of company tools & techniques and relevant regulatory / legislative requirements.
-Demonstrates full understanding of HSSE requirements and knows how to apply them within C&P context.
-Highly developed quantitative, analytical and project management ability.
-Proven effective networker with evidence of developing and building constructive working relationships, whilst maintaining objectivity and pragmatism.
-Noted for commercial acumen, creativity, clarity of communication, and conceptual thinking ability.
-Strong communication, networking, influencing and inter-personal skills with the professional credibility and cultural sensitivity to represent C&P with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
-Deep understanding of C&P governance, process and systems, and the ability to provide leadership across organisational boundaries in regulatory and ethical matters.
-Ability to recognise opportunities for knowledge transfer across different business scenario
-Gravitas, emotional resilience, confidence and ability to relate to Group Senior/Executive Leadership
-Educated to degree level or equivalent; membership of a relevant professional body (eg: MCIPS, CPSM, MIIAPS) preferred.
Fluent in the English language and able to effectively articulate complex issues in written and oral presentations.
