The Business

My client is a rapidly expanding food manufacturing business with a number of Food Manufacturing sites across the UK and an enviable reputation for quality and operational excellence. We have an exciting opportunity for an M&S Development Manager to lead the M&S Development relationship and to develop new products from concept to launch.

Job Purpose

To lead the development relationship with key customer accounts, to deliver responses to project briefs and to provide proactive relevant product stimulation grounded in category, customer and consumer insight thus contributing to a deeper understanding of potential product solutions.

About You: Essential Requirements

* Experience of applying food science/technology expertise (materials / equipment) to the design, development and delivery of innovation.
* Proven record of problem solving ability using scientific knowledge and principles.
* Can perform under pressure with experience of project managing / leading multiple complex technical projects.
* Retailer facing experience (M&S experience required).
* Good understanding of common food ingredients and food process technology.
* Demonstrated application of consumer insights and trends to generate relevant innovation.

About You: Desirable Requirements

* Experience of design, development and delivery of new products.

* Understanding of supply chain demands.
* Understanding of consumer research.
* Effective practitioner of risk management tools and techniques.
* Good grasp of business financial measures.
* Working with multiple sites to deliver projects.

We are particularly interested in speaking with candidates who have a strong understanding of sugar related product processes and ingredients.

Qualifications

* HND / Degree graduate in subjects of Science, Technology or Engineering.

OR Experience in leading and launching sugar related products across a wide range of technologies.
