This role is a commercial role that directly supports Operations and the wider business to ensure that optimum total cost and service is achieved for predominantly Textiles and also Components, other Direct and Non-Direct materials.
The role is broad based supporting a number of functions across the business, and reports to the Senior Buyer within the Purchasing team. Emphasis will be on securing the best provision of Textile products for all Hillarys Brand channels and Product categories, at the best cost.

The role will also encompass sourcing and procurement of on a Global basis with multi-category spend in excess of £5m p/a.
A strong commercial focus and excellent negotiation skills are fundamental. Being able to manage external and internal relationships is essential, as you will be required to work with and manage multi-functional teams on sourcing and product launch projects. Experience and knowledge of Textile manufacturing and procurement is desirable, as well as the ability to identify and implement commercial opportunities. Good analytical skills and the drive to work on your own initiative are crucial. An understanding of contract terms and conditions and the practical use of Service Level Agreements is desirable.

The Role:
- Source Textile products at best overall cost
- Provide Procurement support to Multi-Brand and Product Category channels
- Identify and implement commercial opportunities from a Global supply base, including low-cost regions such as Asia
- Use Vendor Selection techniques to identify and implement potential new sources
- Work with internal cross-functional teams on Product Development projects
- Development of Service Level agreements and specification standards for key contracts
- Identify and implement potential cost savings
- Use Vendor Appraisal techniques to manage existing sources to ensure best cost and quality of product and service
- Liaison with all areas of the business, including Senior Management and Leadership team
- Communication to all areas of the business on progress of key projects
- Support the Procurement function by delivering Signature Service' to it's internal customers

The Person:
Purchasing experience ideally gained within manufacturing
Purchasing of textiles is desirable but by no means essential
Supplier sourcing, supplier approval and negotiations of Terms and Conditions
Personable with the ability to communicate at all levels
Ability to source new innovative materials and designs
