Adam would like to meet.......exceptional senior FMCG marketers who want to play a crucial role in a new marketing structure for one of the nations most recognised FMCG organisations. We are looking for exceptional talent to fulfil the position of Portfolio Controller for this market leader.
This roll will manage all areas of strategy, business performance and key decision making and will play a critical role in the continued development and implementation of brand strategy.
Key Accountabilities:
1. Become established as the figurehead for the category by identifying and aligning the key strategies and a volume & value forecast over a time horizon to improve sales growth, market share and profitability and positively influencing the total organisation to execute the plans to support this direction.
2. To have a marketing and commercial activity plan, trial plan, promotion guidelines, experiential, NPB, for the category that is in line with priorities and where required is stronger
3Recommend the ideal product portfolio that will enable our client to win in the category by using consumer and shopper insight and agree the roll out plan to deliver this portfolio
4. Track the performance of the category on a weekly basis, (consumer segment, customer, product type), providing clear performance updates for the board. Regularly call out areas of under performance and work the customer teams to recommend/implement new plans to get the category back on track where necessary. Alignment of revisions to the activity plan with key stakeholders.
5. Agree the role of the category in the profit strategy of the total business and manage the profitability of the range to deliver against this strategy. Provide quarterly profit updates for the board, demonstrating the direction you will take the profitability of the category and initiatives and KPI's that will be used in the profit plan. Recommend and influence to delete unprofitable sku's where necessary.
6. Demonstrate a very strong understanding of the consumer segments and shopper typologies that buy your products and demonstrate your ability to champion the voice of the consumer/shopper when key decisions are made.
7. Responsible for maintaining own continuous professional development and knowledge to ensure the all associated Business leaders and Managers have a reliable and professional service to meet business needs. Coaching of other team members.
PERSON PROFILE
-Significant experience & success in brand / product management within the FMCG environment.
-A potential business leader within 7 years with a track record of success in delivery of profitable business growth.
-Demonstrated ability to deliver challenging P&L responsibilities in a competitive environment.
-Operated within or has a good knowledge of FMCG sales, marketing, manufacturing and distribution.
-The candidate will be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of the UK Grocery trade.
-Substantial experience in determining brand / product strategy and articulating strategy in a memorable and motivating manner.
-Candidate will inspire confidence when selecting the preferred option during the process for making key decisions.

-Analytical skills that befit a senior manager who is able to interpret information extremely quickly and to propose alternative solutions to business issues based on relevant experience.
