Description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join my clients Supply Chain Team as an Indirect Supply Chain Account Manager.
The Indirect team is responsible for managing and controlling the provision of all purchasing activities to achieve the required service levels in the supply of goods, services and utilities.
This role will be responsible for strategic sourcing, formulation and implementation of global commodity strategies and driving long term improvements in Quality, Cost and Delivery. With this responsibility comes the requirement to develop and build highly effective supplier relationships and to manage a wide range of internal stakeholders. In addition you will be heavily involved in the functional development of the buying population and managing process compliance. The breadth of Categories we lead includes Corporate Services, Tooling, Test and Labour, Facilities, IT, Global Logistics and Manufacturing Systems.
Responsibilities
Strategic Sourcing
* Identify opportunities in a category through supplier market analysis
* Develop and implement strategies using the above opportunities
* Make recommendations to stakeholders on sourcing decisions
* Manage and influence demand
* Prepare and write RFP documentation in line with customer requirements
* Evaluate supplier responses
* Negotiate pricing and agree comprehensive contracts in complex environments
* Manage the category to ensure continued value creation through the contact lifecycle
Processes and Procedures
* Advise customers regarding processes and best procurement practice
* Develop and support internal customer needs for services and product through robust purchasing procedures
* Ensure adherence to the Client's process and procedures
* Ensure all purchase documents are issued and maintained as appropriate including the required customer and Client regulations.
Cost Management
* Identify cost reduction opportunities
* Maintain savings database
Supplier Relationships
* Develop supplier strategies
* Resolve customer/supplier issues
* Manage supplier performance and scorecards
Code of Ethics
* Responsible for ensuring own compliance to the client's code of ethics.
Qualifications & Experience
* Familiarity of eSourcing tools and ERP systems.
* High degree of commercial awareness.
* Purchasing / supply chain management experience within IT and Indirect
* Experience of stakeholder management.
* Experience in commercial negotiation
* A procurement related qualification or degree in Business
* Membership of CIPS
