Adecco are recruiting on behalf of a leading business in the catering/hospitality industry. They are looking to recruit a Buyer.

Reporting to the Commercial Director, you will help to optimise margin on the product category through sourcing product in line with group strategy and policy, helping to minimise waste and maximise selling prices through proactive communication and collaboration. Specifically this will include:
-Undertaking the procurement of selected products to achieve a high level of profit for the company and quality for our customers;
-Making recommendations for developing the product category and strategy to create a competitive core range of products;
-Delivering and reporting on performance against agreed targets/KPI's/budgets on a regular basis including annual sales, profit and supplier income for assigned categories;
-Identifying, assessing and developing a consolidated supplier base for current requirements whilst building relationships to improve quality, service and costs for the future;
-Developing, negotiating and managing all designated contracts and supplier agreements for the category and, where appropriate, agreeing and documenting joint business plans to include promotional plans, target turnover and supplier income;
-Developing and maintaining detailed analyses of key accounts, working in close liaison with Finance and Sales, tracking targets and thresholds in line with contracts to ensure limits are not exceeded and rebates are optimised;
-Working with internal customers and external consultants across the group to ensure the range and specifications for each product meet quality, customer and logistical requirements.

The ideal candidate will have experience in purchasing or working as a buyer for a restaurant chain as well as a good level of product knowledge and industry understanding. Naturally,
Naturally they will be an excellent communicator with great interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective business and customer relationships, but also commercially adept with the negotiation skills and experience to deliver cost down benefits.

Customer focused, and driven by results and achievement, they must also be able to demonstrate a good level of numeracy and literacy, strong administrative skills and be fully competent in the use of ICT.
