Category Manager - IT and IT Hardware, Warwick or Chorley based

We have an exciting opportunity for experienced Category Manager IT to join our Procurement Team. Reporting to the Head of Category Management for telent Technology Services Limited, you will take on the responsibility for managing the category of spend that is classed as IT& IT Hardware for telent's Direct and Indirect requirements.

Your role will consist of developing structured category plans to deliver significant efficiencies and cost savings across the IT and IT Hardware category.

Working closely with the business stakeholders you will developing the sourcing strategy and ensure that any proposed plan has business buy-in at the relevant levels. You will define the most cost effective way sourcing policy and demonstrate real value add from the Procurement function in support of the overall business requirements.

We are interested in you if you have:

-Proven knowledge of Procurement practices in a customer led business environment
-A good technical knowledge of IT and Software in a business environment
-A genuine appreciation and understanding of procurement process, practices and the value that Procurement can bring
-A successful track record of following a strategic sourcing / category management methodology
-A track record in savings delivery within a Procurement organisation
-Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to demonstrate exceptional stakeholder management approach and skills
-Excellent negotiation skills and techniques

Typical Deliverables:

-The development of a detailed category methodology, plans and strategies that deliver specific and significant short, medium and long term cost savings to the business
-Development of a Strategic Sourcing methodology following a systematic Strategic Sourcing approach that compliments that category plan and delivers the overall category strategy
-Production of Framework contractual agreements with preferred suppliers that fulfils all business requirements
-Classifying all suppliers in Category on a commercial and risk basis and recommending an appropriate Supplier Management approach based on the given classification.
-The support of business strategies, tenders & projects associated with the IT and IT Hardware category and the management of third party RFI / RFQ processes and activities in support of these.
-The development of a stakeholder management and engagement plan that will allow you to demonstrate your tailored management approach to all key stakeholders

Qualifications/Skills

-Fully MCIPS Qualified
-Degree / HND / HNC or equivalent in an appropriate discipline is desirable but not essential
-Depth and breadth of experience may be taken into account where these qualifications have not been obtained
