An opportunity for an experienced Procurement Specialist/Senior Buyer with a range of Indirects knowledge in a leading science and research organisation. Due to significant growth and activity within the procurement team, they are now looking to recruit a Contracts Manager, to support the Procurement Manager in a wide range of Indirect spend activity and scientific items.
Within this role you with leading the full end to end procurement activity for a number of category spend areas. You will be an experienced and motivated self-starter, able to work autonomously. This position liaises and builds influence with key stakeholders, whilst co-ordinating major procurement projects within assigned spend categories across multiple business areas of the Group.
Main accountabilities:
* Leading the full procurement process which includes development of scope, supplier selection, commercial negotiation, and contract execution, taking into account current strategy and the long-term impacts of such decisions
* Develop strategies, buying and sourcing tactics in alignment with category strategies and specific business objectives taking account of procurement data,
* Applies judgement to develop or choose appropriate solutions to complex engagements
mitigate risk and provide contractual coverage for all relevant terms within the category
* Communicates complex information or ideas clearly and effectively to all levels using strong verbal and written communication skills
* Engages proactively on a regular basis with stakeholder managers and works to become a trusted advisor for key procurement customers and its suppliers
* Assure compliance with regulatory requirements and corporate expectations in all procurement activities keep up to date with laws and legislative changes that impact the group.
Experience:
* A track record of delivering procurement contracts with some experience of handling large, business critical contracts.
* Experienced in procurement with general knowledge of a variety of procurement categories.
* Experienced in contract drafting.
* MCIPS qualified desirable.
* Advanced Negotiation skills
*Willingness and confidence to present to large groups
*Knowledge of technical science
