My client, a leading provider of social housing and support services, are currently recruiting a number of Category Manager roles for their purchasing team in Birmingham.

The Category Manager will be responsible for managing a designated spend as part of a wider purchasing function.
You will be part of a team of Category Managers responsible for analysing current spend before embarking on the process of renegotiating, retendering or resourcing the various elements of the supply chain.

You will be a Buyer, Senior Buyer of Category Manager working in a predominantly service-driven purchasing function; you will ideally have experiences buying either professional services or I.T. however candidates from other service-based environments will be considered.
Above all the Category Manager must fit the culture of the business to ensure a cohesive, team-based environment that is positioned to best effect change with stakeholders, who are willing and ready to embrace the support of the purchasing function as I develops.

They are in a transitional phase and are currently structuring their central function in order to enable the business to be run better and more efficiently.
The Category Manager roles are a significant part of this period of change and will be a relatively blank canvass for the selected individuals to make a genuine impact on the future of the business.
