Senior Security Architect - Southampton, Hampshire

My client is looking to recruit a Senior Security Architect to join a already successful team of 22 other Architects. They are looking for a dynamic, proactive individual who enjoys a challenge and who can hit the ground running.
This role is best suited to someone who has a strong experience in IT Security, with supporting breadth of understanding across IT architecture, and who is looking for an advisory and strategic role, as all design and development work is undertaken by an outsourced partner. The individual will be expected to provide architectural guidance for solutions based on business requirements and review designs produced from a third party supplier.
The role has a good balance of project and strategic work and team members are actively encouraged to seek out and evaluate new technologies. Communication skills are important and are rated highly as this role regularly interfaces with both execs and technical personnel in an off shore environment. The incumbent will be expected to co-ordinate programmes of work and be responsible for specific technologies - maintenance of current estate and production of product/architectural roadmaps. They must a strong background in at least two of the following categories:
- Identity and Access Management (Federation, Provisioning, Access Control, Online ID&V, Collaboration)
- Endpoint Protection (Anti-Virus/Malware, Removable Media Management, Hard Disk Encryption)
- Data Leakage Prevention (Host based, Network Based, Content Filtering)
- Infrastructure Security (IDP, Firewall Management, Secure Messaging/File Transfer)
- Threat and Vulnerability Management (Vulnerability Management, Penetration Test Management, Secure Code Management)
Job Summary/Purpose
" To assist in the development, maintenance, communication and implementation of the technology strategy and architecture taking into account business strategy, industry direction, technology innovation and input from 3rd party delivery partners, across:
o major business segments;
o significant UK and International technology domains;
" They will support and inform decisions which have major and far-reaching impact on the strategic direction of technology in the company, on projects and the IT delivery.
Technical Knowledge and Skills:
" Proven track record within a wide variety of IT functions, including systems analysis, development and project management.
" Proven track record of defining solution architectures for large and small projects eg recommending configuration of gateway monitoring/filtering (web & email), implementation of intrusion detection systems
" Understanding of industry best practice and trends together with their application within a business context.
" Proven track record of how to apply security within applications and infrastructure
" Understanding of compliance requirements for Data Protection Act, PCI DSS & FCA/PRA guidelines
" Industry qualifications advantageous - CISSP, CISM
" Detailed knowledge of security (at an architectural level) within at least two of the following technologies:
o Mid-range & Server: Windows Server, iSeries, UNIX, Windows Virtualisation & Messaging/MS Exchange
o Gateway (monitoring and filtering of web & email traffic, Data Loss Prevention)
o End user computing (EndPoint Security, Windows OS, Desktop Hardware, Group Policy, Productivity Tools, software/package deployment)
o Storage, Archiving & Back up/Recovery (HP, EMC, Symantec, Optical Storage)
o Voice & Data Networking (Cisco & Avaya)
o ECommerce (.Net/Java/Struts framework)
o ESB/Middleware (Tibco Businessworks)
o Threat and Vulnerability Management (Vulnerability Scanning, Intrusion Detection/Prevention, Security Information and Event Management)
