Consultant in Respiratory & General (Internal) Medicine (11 PA's) - Substantive
Salisbury NHS Foundation Trust wishes to appoint a consultant in Respiratory & General Medicine to this new substantive post to join two existing consultants. The post is whole time & attracts 11 Programmed Activities including 1 PA allocated for on call duties.
Located in South Wiltshire Salisbury is surrounded by beautiful countryside & the counties of Dorset & Hampshire. The Trust functions as both a busy District General Hospital, serving a population of approximately 250 000, as well as a regional centre for Plastics & Burns, Genetics & supra-regional for Spinal Injuries. The Trust has a strong record of financial stability, is highly appreciated by patients and has recently been awarded the best risk category for providing safe & high quality care by the Care Quality Commission.
We are seeking an enthusiastic individual to join our motivated & dedicated Respiratory team. The Respiratory Department offers a broad range of Respiratory services across the diversity of lung disease. Active participation in the acute general medical on call rota is expected. The post holder will be encouraged to develop a sub-speciality interest.
The department is well supported by a team of Specialist Respiratory Nurses, Cancer Nurse Specialist, Respiratory Physiotherapist, Pulmonary Function Technician, secretarial & administrative staff. Junior medical staff include two Specialist Registrars in Respiratory Medicine, a Specialist Registrar in Acute Medicine, a CMT & two Foundation doctors.

Applications should be in possession of a CCT in General (Internal) Medicine & Respiratory Medicine leading to entry onto GMC Specialist Register (or expected within 6 months of interview). Applicants will also be expected to demonstrate excellent communication skills, to a professional standard, in spoken and written English. Where equivalent qualifications or experience are being offered, it is essential that candidates should provide confirmation of this from the relevant College or Faculty in the United Kingdom and attach the confirmation to your application.
