HGV Technician/Engineer - Birmingham with UK travel

£25,000 and £30,000 per annum, depending on experience, plus a generous benefits package

Working both autonomously, and as part of a small team, our HGV Technicians perform a vital and challenging role to support the delivery fleet operation across the UK. This involves maintaining and repairing specialist refrigerated vehicles to the highest standards whilst ensuring maximum levels of availability of the fleet at all times.

The role will require flexibility in working hours and regular travel to other sites around the UK and overnight stays.

Key responsibilities of the HGV Technician/Engineer include:

* The HGV Technician/Engineer will be responsible for the general maintenance to fleet vehicles including body and electrical repairs
* The HGV Technician/Engineer will be responsible for Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT
* Servicing and repairing of tail lifts
* The HGV Technician/Engineer will Ensure defects are rectified in a timely manner and adhering to legal requirements
* Carrying out pre-planned preventative maintenance routines across Greggs bakery sites
* Communicating with sites effectively and planning travel arrangements to suit fleet availability
* Carrying out quality inspections, reporting on external suppliers, and producing reports
* Ensuring all documentation is completed as per the company's instructions and procedures - Ordering parts and liaising with suppliers
* Reporting of body damage and driver abuse

The Ideal HGV Technician/Engineer

We're looking for an experienced multi-skilled HGV Technician that possesses excellent communication, planning and organisational skills along with an enthusiastic approach. You should ideally possess a Category C licence (although training may be considered) and an NVQ Level 3 or equivalent. You'll possess good interpersonal skills with an ability to influence at all levels. You should have experience of carrying out pre-planned preventative maintenance routines in a target driven environment and be fully conversant with all Microsoft packages.
