Day to day management and delivery of the mechanical and electrical (M&E) repair and service contracts.
This is an exciting new job within the Maintenance Services team where you will be responsible for managing the delivery of the mechanical and electrical (M&E) servicing contracts through external contractors, with a bias towards electrical installations, to ensure full compliance with M&E legislative and regulatory compliance across housing stock.
* You will monitor the progress of these contracts; identify issues and action remedial measures to ensure high level contract compliance and resident satisfaction.
* You will also need to demonstrate an understanding of performance management to ensure that quality and value for money is achieved at all times.
* Applicants should be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of design and energy use requirements regarding Part L of British Standards and Code of Sustainable Homes.
* You will need practical experience of managing specialist mechanical and electrical installations and have a detailed understanding of best practice in the delivery of such contracts.
* You will need to be computer literate and be able input and retrieve data from computer management systems.
* You will possess a relevant building services electrical qualification to HNC level or equivalent.
Management of the external contractors and consultants engaged to carry out all work in relation to service contracts
* Ensuring up to date information and records on services and installations to formulate key performance indicators and inform future maintenance programmes.
* You will have expert knowledge in the servicing, repair and replacement of electrical installations.
* You will be required to manage the contracts of the external contractors who are engaged to carry out the various contracts e.g. domestic and commercial electrical installations, door entry systems, fire alarms and emergency lighting, P.V. etc.

* Expert knowledge in the servicing, repair and replacement of electrical installations
* Able to demonstrate an understanding of performance management to ensure that quality and value for money is achieved at all times.

* You will possess a relevant building services electrical qualification to HNC level or equivalent
3. Other
* You will need a full driving licence and have access to a vehicle on a daily basis as this role requires the post holder to be mobile (travelling to various sites).

This post is similar in nature to the post of Mechanical Engineer. We reserve the right to move the post between the two M&E teams, as required.
