Job Purpose:
This is a senior management position responsible for managing our finance function. The post holder will ensure that organisational and statutory financial processes are followed in a timely fashion and that senior managers are supported to be financially and commercially savvy so they are able to take sound decisions.

Key Responsibilities:

* Supporting the Finance and Corporate Services Director to ensure that the board of trustees, the finance committee and the senior leadership team receive credible financial data and analysis to run the organisation.

* Playing a part in ensuring that a new finance system is delivered and well-maintained, ensuring a smooth transition through re-engineering ineffective processes and workflows and ensuring that management reporting is improved giving greater insights into the financial performance of the organisation.

* Managing a team of over 20 finance professionals and technicians who deliver a range of functions including management accounting, financial accounting, procurement, financial modelling and payment processing. Ensuring that the directorate are aligned to organisational goals and engaged in delivering first-class support, ensuring that teams across the organisations are supported to develop and meet their career aspirations.

* Supporting the organisation's expansion plans through ensuring the effective delivery of financial advice and financial modelling on any mergers, acquisitions, bids and tenders and programme-funding applications. Ensuring that full costs and risks are surfaced, understood and incorporated into any proposals and ensuring that managers and staff joining from other organisations are educated on organisational financial processes as part of business take-on.

KEY ATTRIBUTES:
* A senior financial professional with accountancy qualification (CCAB or equivalent)
* Management skills to deliver an aligned, high-performance Finance function to meet the challenges of our new strategy
* Able to embed a customer-focused team culture so that the Finance team acts as a true business partner
* An understanding of the key challenges and culture within an organisation of similar size and complexity
* Experience of building, managing and developing finance teams and of embedding financial management skills across an organisation
* Experience of financial planning, budgeting, forecasting, internal controls and management information systems
* Experience of developing systems, processes and policies and managing their implementation around programmes of improvement, efficiency and change
