Matchtech are currently looking for an experienced Quality Control and Inspection engineer to join an expanding drilling and well services company in Aberdeen.

Reporting line

The QC & Inspection Engineer will report directly to the Lead QA Engineer.

Role:
The QC & Inspection Engineer is designated to control and follow up all Quality Control, Inspection and certification issues regarding the design, manufacture, testing and subsequent shipping of Fabricated items. They will also lead internal and external audits.

Key responsibilities:
This role will be required to:
-To ensure Material, Fabrication and Equipment compliance with Company Requirements, Legislation specification in accordance with Base Requisition using third party call off specialist.
-Ensure compliance with project specific Codes and Standards for all fabricated items and materials in accordance with Base Requisition.
-Verify Inspection and Certification requirements within Technical Design deliverables.
-Compiling and maintaining all 3rd party inspection review/witness and hold points.
-Responsible for closure of Inspection hold points.
-Expediting documentation in accordance with submitted Manufacturers Record Book.
-Review, approval and control of supplier material certification.
-First Point of Contact with Client Inspectors.
-Review and edit supplier Inspection Test and Quality Plans for all manufactured items.
-Review SDRL requirements for all manufactured items.
-Review purchase requisitions to determine QA/QC requirements.
-SDFE focal point for QC Certification Issues (onshore and offshore).
-Leading internal and external audits in accordance with BS EN ISO 9001/2008.
-Organise international inspections using external Inspection company.
-To respect colleagues, clients and subcontractors at all levels, dealing with any dispute or conflict in a professional and personable manner.
-Any other reasonable duties as specified by Line Manager.

Core Competencies:
-Conversant with Industry Quality requirements and standards ISO 9001/2008, ASME B31.3, BS EN 10204, API 6A, PED/CE marking.
-Capable of setting up, undertaking and monitoring internal and external audits as required by the Archer Quality Management System.
-Capable of writing and managing internal procedures as required
-Capable of undertaking and reporting on investigations and root cause analysis when quality issues are identified
-Industry general awareness stakeholders, standards, regulations etc.
-Good understanding of inspection techniques.
-Good understanding of welding.
-Good understanding of drilling equipment.
