Based at their UK Manufacturing site the Category Manager will take responsibility for providing commercial support for the procurement of capital equipment and services related to capital spend across all manufacturing and distribution operations together with managing all major projects for UK Manufacturing.

Working closely with internal stakeholders and external vendors you will ensure best value is gained on capital spend, lead the procurement process including negotiations and reviewing contracts and ensure that appropriate contracts are in place and are monitored. With your commercial acumen you will be able to ensure that all contract performance is being met and any changes correctly managed, negotiated and recorded.

Key to your success will be the ability to establish excellent working relationships with critical suppliers, internal stakeholders and to monitor supplier performance and address any service issues.

This is a high profile role as you will be handling concurrent high value contracts. You will be liaising with the company's senior global management team so your interpersonal skills will be of the highest level demonstrating listening, negotiating, understanding and written/verbal communication abilities.

With an Engineering-related degree your procurement experience will have been gained working for n a complex, fast-moving business wherein you will have managed the procurement of high -value, capital equipment and civil engineering services.

You may have an Engineering background but have been working in a Business Development role selling high value capital equipment with established knowledge of Contractual issues and procurement processes.

Given the scope of the role you will be expected to undertake UK and International travel .
