Site Operative Solutions Ltd are currently looking for a Tunnel Engineer with LUL experience.
You will be expected to:
1. Support the respective Project Manager and Suppliers in delivering the Comms and CIS Projects to programme, cost and schedule. You will provide technical instruction and guidance to the Suppliers and ensure the delivery of technically compliant designs and solutions.
2. Comply with Engineering Governance through-out the lifecycle with particular focus on PMF, Standards, Value Engineering, Change Management and Design Reviews. You will own the Project Requirements and Scope and ensure that compliance is demonstrated through effective verification and validation at every stage of the lifecycle.
3. Ensure successful system integration through interface management and involvement of relevant disciplines and parties. You will take a systematic engineering approach to Project Delivery throughout the lifecycle, covering Requirements Management, System Architecture, Interface Management, Verification & Validation Management, Safety Management and System Integration.
4. Engage specialist Discipline Engineers (E.g. Telecommunication, C&I Engineers), System Engineers (e.g. Human Factors, Requirements/V&V, EMC, Performance, RAMS, System Safety Engineers) and Test & Commissioning Engineers where required to discharge delivery responsibilities. You will consult and co-ordinate input from the above LU Engineers throughout the Project lifecycle.
5. Mitigate technical risks and issues; identify and realise opportunities by continuously challenging the way things are done, seeking alternative more cost effective solutions and more efficient ways of working.
6. Ensure that all Safety responsibilities are understood and undertaken by the suppliers. You will place a strong emphasis on the design aspects of CDM to support the ATC 'Zero Harm' approach to safety.
7. Promote a risk-based approach to Assurance, and co-ordinate the production and delivery of assurance submissions, as specified under LU Category 1 Standard for Assurance (S1-538).
8. Support the ATC geographical migration plan through engineering readiness planning and reviews ahead of testing and commissioning activities.
9. Provide reports and updates to manager and other business stakeholders as required.
Your Skills and Experience
A minimum of 2 years experience of working as a Project Engineer in a railway environment in conjunction with an Engineering Degree and/or Higher National qualifications is required. You will have experience of planning, engineering and integrating railway system projects is preferred for this role.
Experience of managing/engineering communications, control and Information work either within London Underground, Network Rail or overseas is required.
Ideally, you will have experience of working in a commercial environment.
