The person would need to come from an electrical engineering discipline related to construction, the Electrical Engineer/ Supervisor (Construction) must be able to act independently and function as part of a small team with technical and commercial support from in-house engineering resources and the Senior Electrical Engineer (Construction). Some relevant industrial experience would be an advantage but training and support would be given to develop a suitable candidate.
The role includes supporting the Senior Electrical Engineer (Construction) in the following responsibilities:
Ensure compliance with contract requirements and company Safety, Quality and Environment Policies.
The onsite control, co-ordination and auditing of electrical subcontractors and for ensuring their adherence to the applicable Procedures and Method Statements, liaising with Health, Safety, Quality and Environment Managers, Site Managers and Project Managers as necessary.
Monitor all electrical activities at site leading up to energisation.
The maintenance and completion of the Site Quality, Inspection and Test and Environmental Plans
Implementing all measures necessary to ensure site safety in accordance with Safety Policy including:
1. Production and review of Sub-Contractors' Risk Assessments & Method Statements
2. Ensuring that the company Mechanical & Electrical Safety Rules are established and observed.
Contributing to the monitoring of progress at site including:
1. Support and administration of the various sub-contracts.
2. Attend site progress meetings on behalf of the Senior Electrical Engineer (Construction).
Assist in preparing instructions to Sub-Contractors and Suppliers.
Ensuring that Technical Enquiries are processed in accordance with Technical Enquiries Procedure
Ensuring that any outstanding electrical works are completed.
Checking on schematic drawings to ensure compliance.
