Overview
The primary role of the Maintenance Manager is to manage all aspects of the Maintenance and Reliability functions.
This position is responsible for the parts and services required to maintain the facility’s processing and packaging equipment, buildings, and facilities to ensure ongoing, cost effective and safe operations, and to maximize process efficiencies, and to minimize production downtime.
Essential Functions
- Provide ongoing emphasis and training to ensure compliance with BNA safety and environmental policies by maintenance and utility staff and contractors by ensuring work is performed safely and that hazards are anticipated and managed properly
- Zero injury mindset for yourself and your staff
- Review work orders and other work demands to determine ongoing priorities to achieve OEE goals and meet an annual Maintenance Budget
- Set a positive managerial example and develop/inspire maintenance management staff members to more effectively perform the responsibilities they presently have plus prepare them for positions of greater responsibility, or success in their current roles. Provide coaching instruction to ensure independent success and that all work as a team towards our financial and operational goals
- Partners with processing, packaging, warehouse and quality control managers to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment. Be a leader of the preventative and predictive maintenance process, ARROP, working with SAP CMMS to manage your department’s resources and ensure budgetary constraints and operational goals are met
- Lead technical resources for the facility to meet the capital budget and strategic goals. Also, be a champion for process and equipment improvements
- Oversight of scheduling of employees, hourly and salary, as well as scheduling employee vacations to ensure proper staffing
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering
- Proven and demonstrated leadership and management skills within a team-oriented environment
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience with mechanical process equipment, process automation systems, automated packaging equipment, ammonia refrigeration systems, boilers, electrical distribution systems, plumbing, PLCs, and instrumentation
- Prefer that candidate has experience to continuous improvement practices
- Prefer that candidate has experience working in a maintenance and reliability environment
- Ability to shift priorities quickly in order to meet demands of other departments for the overall benefit of the organization
- Strong working knowledge of business software applications: Word, Excel, Power Point
- Previous experience with any/all of the following software is preferred: SAP, AutoCAD, RSLogix, Siemens PC-S7, WinCC,
- Excellent verbal, written and listening communication skills
- Requires flexibility to handle after-hours calls
- Ability to work odd hours, weekends and holidays as necessary
